2021年8月15日星期日晚上8点左右，在Beckenham巡逻的警察发现了一辆被盗的现代途胜。他们试图截停该车，但据称司机拒绝停车并加速驶离 William Street。警方派出直升机空中监控被盗车辆。

Beckenham Evade Police
Around 8pm, Sunday 15 August 2021,police on patrol in Beckenham sighted a stolen Hyundai Tucson and attempted tostop it.
It will be alleged the driver failedto stop and accelerated away on William Street. A police helicopter wasdeployed to the scene and took over the monitoring of the stolen vehicle fromthe air.
It will be alleged the driver of thestolen vehicle drove it in a manner which was reckless and dangerous to thepublic.
The stolen vehicle was driven ontoWest Road, Bassendean and into the car park area at Sandy Beach Reserve wherethe road terminates. At the end of the car park the driver attempted to turn todrive out of the car park however collided with a white Hyundai Elantra,causing damage to both vehicles.
Police officers moved in and arrestedthe driver.
A 33-year-old man from High Wycombehas been charged with:
– Fail to Stop
– Reckless Driving (to evade police)
– Steal Motor Vehicle
– No Authority to Drive
– Steal Motor Vehicle and DriveRecklessly
– Assault with Intent to PreventArrest
– Give False Details to Police
– Criminal Damage
He was refused bail and appeared inthe Midland Magistrates Court on Monday 16 August 2021.
